Sullen Girl- Fiona Apple (Tidal, 1996)
I thought I'd let everyone in on who I am a little more aside from the positive, happy-go-lucky person I try to be. Things aren't always rainbows and unicorns, we all know that, I carry a deep and dark pain. I have it hidden inside me, always lurking around a corner. It comes out in anything I do, from my creativity and passion. I love Fiona Apple so much because her music sings to my soul. It's a musical book of who I am, and 'Sullen Girl' is an exact reflection of myself. The lyrics "It's calm under the waves in the blue of my oblivion," and "They don't know I used to sail the deep and tranquil sea" are how I feel everyday. How calm and cool I carry myself, no one knowing the chaos or battles I've faced and what I struggle with in my life today. So here's a piece of me to you. I hope everyone enjoys this song as much as I do.
