Sigh. Dammit.
For the past two weeks, I've been in the process of quitting smoking. I hadn't smoked for long, it was largely to "see what all the fuss was about." It was quite a great experiment and experience. There was something that I learned about smoking that was wonderfully fascinating: It increases my motor skills (particularly my handwriting) and my ability to focus, I've had ADHD all my life, and while it has made me a charismatic and entertaining person to be around, it does help to pay attention in a meeting. So... I asked a friend for a Menthol during the break. I'm a damned different person after I smoke.....
But I'm concerned about the health aspect. So, while I'm frustrated by my inability to quit, and worried about my health in the future, I acknowledge the benefits to my mental state. I work better. I think better. I can put up with the bullshit that my customers put me through and keep a smile on my face the whole time - AND MEAN IT (mostly).
I'm glad to take suggestions, REALLY GLAD, if someone has any suggestions on another way to get the benefits of smoking without the nasty side effects.
