I have a major problem with finding short term motivation for long term goals. For me, I'd love to get in better shape but the prospect of *eventually* getting "in shape" doesn't seem to be enough to get me to go out and do things that lead towards this goal.
Occasionally I can find short term goals of a location to travel to for a walk or a bike ride and things like that but the repetition doesn't work for me. I can't do treadmills because there's no amount of entertainment than can get me off the fact that I'm walking on a loop in front of a wall (no the TV on the wall doesn't help me and neither does the music in my ears nor the combination of the two) and I get too bored to not constantly stare at the clock.
Anyone have any recommendations? I think maybe at some point I can work my way to jogging but really I enjoy the taking in of the scenery around me more than the work of jogging (go figure, right?).
I wish I had like hard labor projects to keep me busy and work me out. I've actually started looking on craigslist for weekend labor "jobs" so fill that need and if I make a few bucks in the process then bonus.
Yeah... I need help.
