So, starting late this evening and all through tomorrow we're looking at about five to seven inches of snow total. I'm super excited simply because this will be the first real snow of this Winter. We had one or two occasions where it...you know, kind of snowed but I refuse to count that. I mean, come on if it ain't at least a solid couple of inches in one go what is the point? And none of the ice rain sleet shit either, I mean real snow. Kind of like this:

That is a picture of my parents house (who also live here in Nebraska) from April of 2009. We had a monstrous blizzard come through, seventeen inches of snow and two days of forty-eight mile per hour winds. It was awesome, I couldn't get out of my house for almost four days. Thankfully I had stocked up on cigarettes and coffee and the massive amount of snow didn't kill my dish and internet. I know some people are prone to getting cabin fever and what not...but me? I love having a good excuse to not leave my house. Unproductive? Sure, but it was a lot of fun knowing I didn't have to be anywhere because I literally couldn't get there.
Obviously this dusting won't be anything close to what that was, because simply put that was the type of storm that came through around here once every decade. But in any event, I'm eagerly awaiting the first flakes to start falling to see what we get.
