Glad to hear it! I think the director, Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Nightwatch, Daywatch), will do a good job if he keeps the story grounded, raises the dramatic aspect (Abe's Mom and his 1st wife story arc will make or break the entire film), and keeps the action jacked up to 11.
I'm onto The Walking Dead now and read the first 3 books (the multiple issue ones). I don't know if you watch the show on AMC, but there's no way on TV they'll be able to get away with anything the comics had in the later issues. Lots of gruesome, depressing, yet hard-hitting stuff there.
