So I found out yesterday that I got into the Clown Conservatory. yay! My roommate also auditioned, but as of yet, hasn't heard back from them.
Let me give you a little background. Harvey and I are both clowns, but we come at the same thing from veerrrryyy different angles. She has a rigid theatre training background, and I do not. I have no acting training beyond fight and stunt choreography, and the willingness... eagerness to make a fool out of myself in front of people. We've almost gotten into fights over the nature of clowning and other such topics, but we both realize at critical moments that it's all a matter of opinion.
Harvey is a bit full of herself, okay.. a lot full of herself... and believes that she's god's gift to pretty much everything. Any time I'm rehearsing or practicing something, she has do give me direction. And it bugs the shit out of me. But she always has to make sure everyone knows that she does this better than them, that she's the one with the background and training, and we aren't.
So here it is, I have heard already, less than 24 hours after my audition, I've been accepted, and she hasn't heard. They said we would get an email in at least a week, maybe two, and I got it in less than a day, and Harvey hasn't heard. This must be a gigantic blow to her ego. Here, this untrained goofy kid got into this program, and she with all her years of experience and thinking she knows every goddamned thing about clowning and I'm doing it wrong because I'm not doing it HER way... and I got in so fast, and she hasn't heard yet.
So now she isn't talking to me. Hoo fun.
In lighter news.. I have my first tattoo appointment today! I'm finally getting inked! Pictures after.
