Why hello everyone and welcome to another day in the life of MEE...
well anyways... I cant post any pictures of my time in Finland just yet because just when I thought I would have time alone on my OWN comp so I could update this Journal.... I get a rude awakening that I need to LEAVE my home pack up and be gone.... not because rents have a wild hair up their bumms but because where I live the city has red tagged our homes saying it is unsafe for us (meaning some 850 residential homes) to live in.
Ok to keep everyone up on speed here before I make people wonder... "Just what the heck is this girl smoking" here is what is going on in Corona Cali at the moment...
These past two weeks Southern Cali has been hit with some of the worst weather it has seen in over 20+ years. We have been having the kind of rain that you would only expect in Georgia. You know that nasty down poor rain (and NO I am not exaggerating on this one like we do with most things like how hot or how cold it is)...
well normally this weather would not be effecting Cali like it has if it had not been for some of the mud slides... For those of you who remember back about a year ago when Cali was pretty much up in a ball of flames with all of the fires in the local mountains... well those same fires caused us allot of grief when it comes to mudslides... those fires burned down brush that would have normally been able to soak up the rain and not cause as much damage as it has had.
Most have probably already heard of the mudslide that happened in La Conchita that killed I think... 10 people. Well now Cali has a new menis to deal with and it is MAN Made this time...
The Prado Dam that is located right on the border of Riverside and Orange County in Corona (where I live near) started to seep (leak) out water Friday which caused a major evacuation for over 2,300 residents from their homes early Friday morning... my home being one of them.
Just imagine 2,300 people trying to get out of their homes when this mandatory evacuation was put into effect. You only have two ways out of this city because all the side roads are washed out due to the flooding. You can either go to Orange County or Head further into Riverside County but you cant stay in a major section of Corona... It would make even the sanest person go insane when you only have one freeway to get on which is hell anyways for that time of day (91 freeway) on top of that one of the major on-off ramps to that nasty freeway has been shut down... which means you have to go out of your way (if you live near the dam) just to get on the freeway and on top of that the only road you can get on to get onto any on ramp for that freeway is a parking lot of crazy people either needing to get to work or franticly leaving the city.... If you ask me people were too paranoid and afraid of what would happen if this dam were to break.
Well to make a long story short... Officials have said it is ok to go back to "our" homes but they would not advise it.... which means "if you are smart you will stay away from your homes... but it is safe to go back"...
well I went back to my home to get some things and (grrrrrssss) the cops wouldn't let me in my home because I did not have a ID that said I lived where I was going... It pissed me off soo much so now I am here at my mothers house pissin and moaning about not being able to go home to grab a few things because I don't have ID
Personally I feel that the Army Corps of Engineers are doing the best they can to make sure that this dam does not break.... but if it does... with what water is in there now... it would flood out parts of Riverside County and most of Orange County... and there have even been reports that if the dam breaks that Angles Stadium would be knee deep in flood water. Oye I wish I didn't have to come back to Corona and deal with this... I would have much rather have stayed in Finland with my Grand-mum
But anyways on a funny note to the whole flood disaster crap here in Cali... On Wednesday I was driving to work when (not my coffee) but am airplane woke me from my half sleepy morning state of mind... I was driving to work when I saw what I thought at first was a motorcycle with a very big light coming towards me... but when it kept coming closer and closer it got bigger and bigger... then that one light I saw became one big light and two far stretched out break lights... I then had to adjust my eyesight for a moment because I thought I was hallucinating when I saw an airplane following the rules of the road like a normal car would do... I then looked around me and saw a few airplanes parked on the side of the street... at that time I thought I had lost it completely... so I parked on the side of the road and got out to see in disbelief.... about 200 airplanes had been parked or had been using the local streets as a runway because the small airport had flooded the 50 hangers that held these tiny giants... I honestly swore up and down that I was going insane when I saw what I had seen until I saw it again on the news later that day....
Well anyways enough of my rambling on and making my mother go insane with being on the comp so late cause I cant be on my own... I will post the pictures of Finland and the Nightwish/After Forever concert as soon as I can get back to my place without needing to go through cops with a dang ID
Peace out and Be Safe

That's gonna be insane if the prado dam does break. Obviously the carnage will be incredible. But it's been there my whole life and I always remember seeing it when driving past on the 91.
I live up by Main and Ontario St. so we havn't been evacuated. I wish there was space here, if there was you could come stay with me. That's not really an option though. I'm never here, but if you feel like going to ontario where I work you're more than welcom to use my computer there as much as you want.
Haha yea I heard today that they were evacuating aircraft from the corona airport. It's happened before cause that airport is in a high flood zone and it floods a lot. That's why they origionaly used that place as an airport back in the 20s er whenever it was is cause the water from the rare flooding made it perfectly flat. When I was younger I practicaly lived at the Corona airport since my dad had an airplane there and just lived airplanes (as did I, well still kindo do). When it'd happen he'd just fly it up to Chino or some other airport around here. Most folks don't like taking any chances cause a lot of those airplanes cost more than the houses around there. And they are easily moved of corse.
It's really insane that of ALL places in the world the one that's being the most effected by the weather is sunny So Cal.
