So, I just got back from Missouri. Really fun: visited a nice dive bar, was useless the next day, checked out some cute shops on Sunday, and had one of the creepiest rides home getting back at 1230am. We got into southern Iowa around 930 1000 and all of a sudden there was a caravan of Amish buggies coming through the dense fog. There is nothing creepier than that, unless you count the creepy truck just idling in the fog in one intersection just waiting for a stranded motorist to gut and bury in the forest.
Anyway, on my trip I have discovered something great. Us pierced and tattooed folk really are quite a close-knit bit of society. Any shop I went to in MO that had a regular person(read as no tattoos or piercings) I would really have no one paying attention to me, nothing negative just nothing. But when I would walk into a little vintage store or a hippy store that had one of Us there, they would automatically greet me and start talking up a storm and being really helpful. One girl with a nice sleeve, short colorful hair, and the same type of plugs as me even gave me discount on a vintage polo after talking tattoos with her for a few minutes. Also, I apparently stumbled on the dive bar where all of the tatted up ladies hang out($1 miller high life and Stag cans all night long).
Good weekend.
