I just got back from singing for a funeral service. Though it was a sad event, it really got me thinking about how much I miss singing all the time...plus it paid $75, which was nice. A few years ago, I was performing everywhere, for money and pro bono, but had to give it up because it didn't pay enough. Also, I don't know anyone where I live that seriously wants to form a band or at least accompany me.
Anyway, I think I am going to pursue some more gigs. Hopefully, I can recover fully from my voice being destroyed a month ago. I couldn't speak for about a week, and it really affected my range. Also, the director of the Des Moines Choral Society wants me to audition, which could be fun, if gas money wasn't $2.34/gallon and DSM not 35 miles away.
Well, I am going to stop before I start to ramble more than I ought to.
