Warning: this entry is long, but there are pictures!
h'ok, so. florida is over. i'm sorta glad. the weather was fuckin' hot and it was not ok with me. it was basically like jumping from maine weather in may to maine weather in august. yowza. i mean, yeah it was fun and stuff, but i'm glad to be home, glad to be back on the ground. the first time flying was good stuff. i wasn't scared at all, which sorta surprised me because i always thought i would be a huge baby when i flew for the first time. but it was fun. when we first got on the plane, i sat at the window seat because my sister said everyone who flies for the first time should do just that. so when i sat down and looked out the window and thought about the adventure to come, i freaked out and was like "no no no i can't do this" and i sat in the aisle seat instead. but once we took off, wouldn't you know i was leaning over my mom and sister the whole time, looking out the window. man i'm such a pussy. i ended up switching with my sister and sat at the window for the rest of the flight, so i got to be there when we landed. flying is fun, i have decided. except on the way back, it was friggin' turbulent as hell during the descent, so it was a tad sketchy. i kept thinking, ok we're not so far from the ground, if we crash i might still live, and kept thinking that as we got closer to the ground. and then we landed! and i was back in my home state! but yeah, the trip...
we left very fuckin' early on sunday morning, got on our 7:35 flight, and landed in Orlando at 10:35 on the dot. shortly after we got off the plane, my mom remembered that we know someone who is a chef at the airport hotel's restaurant. so we had a little adventure of trying to find him, but then they said he didn't come in until 2, so we left him a note. we're not sure if he ever got it, though. after that we picked up our baggage and got a shuttle to the rent-a-car place. we ended up with a bronze nissan sentra. it was pretty special...
anyway, we were trying to get to kissimmee because my brother lives there while he goes to school at MMI, the school for Harley Davidson motorcycles and stuff. i'd just like to say that the roads in orlando need to be labeled better because we took like 4 wrong turns because of lack of signage. FUCK YOU ORLANDO! we ended up going WAY out of our way, but we got to him finally. he's changed so friggin' much, it made me a little sad. but i also know that once he comes home, he'll change right back. he's just playing the part right now. he hates it down there and i guess he's just trying to make the best of it. he said that the day before, someone got murdered across the street. and they all laughed about it. he had friends over so he was being awkward. my mom, sister and i were hungry, so my mom asked if he wanted to go get something to eat with us. he sorta hedged a little, so i was like "no, you're coming with us tyler." thinking to myself he hasn't fucking seen us since christmas, but he sees these people every day!
so we got pizza, then dropped him off and said goodbye. we continued on our way to zephyrhills, where my aunt and nana live. we got there around 5 pm. they had made us dinner, so we ate and then chilled for a while. kelly (sister) and i went swimming in the pool, but that pool is fucking nasty because it's so chlorinated and it was something like 80 degrees. ick.
next day, my sister and i drove back to orlando to go shopping. i got two totally hot tank tops (wow, alliteration!) and a denim skort. here are some pics i just took for ya
hot, no? heh. anywho... shopping was fun. the 2nd tank top was only $10! hot damn
the next day, we went to Clearwater Beach. ten minutes after we got there and got set up under our umbrella thingie, it started to rain. we looked down the beach and could see the storm coming, it was the coolest thing! so we grabbed our shit and went back to the car. then it really started to rain, and there was a little thunder in there too! we went over to a gift shop and looked around while we waited out the storm. it broke after about 20 minutes, and we went back to the beach, where i got INSANELY burnt. i wanted to get burnt though. but yeah, here are the beach pics i took
beach hair! and my new bathing suit on
kelly and mom (mom has her bathing suit on backward! hahahaha)
and here is what happened because of being at the beach
sunburn!
aaanywho. the next day we went to a place called Tarpon Springs. this is us in tarpon springs
don't ask me what my weird-ass aunt is doing...
but yeah, it's basically a big touristy place where they have all those stupid beach-y shops with sarongs and windchimes and cheap crap. Tarpon Springs is famous, apparently, for its "sponge docks" which is basically where they bring all the sponges in after diving for them in the ocean. this pic is just after one of the boats came in
that was the last day we were in florida. that night, we went to this place called the Golden Corral - a huge-ass buffet restaurant. it was SO awesome! i ate lots of good stuff
so now we come to departure from florida. the most waiting around i've done in a long time, and it was all so goddamn pointless. i woke up at 6:30 in the morning, we left my aunt's at 7:45 (15 minutes ahead of time), got to the airport at 8:45, made it through check-in and all that stuff in about 20 minutes. so we were expecting to wait for about two hours... 9:05 to 11:10 (flight departure time). after being there for about 20 minutes, someone came over the intercom and said that our flight was going to be delayed by about an hour. WHAT THE FUCK! ANOTHER hour of waiting. gah. i was so pissed, i just wanted to get the fuck home. but finally our plane loaded and we were on our way. here are some pics from the flight, because i was bored
looking out over the clouds, soooo cool!
before going into a cloud
inside a cloud
looking back on the cloud we just went through
landing... FINALLY!
and that's my trip. yay i'm home! so what did i miss? i noticed that yesterday SG was impossible to get on - what was up with that?
ask me some questions. preferably more than one
