prepare yourself - this one's long...
so wow, yeah. yesterday was quite the interesting day. first there was that whole crapcake deal with not being able to move my car. that forced me to miss both of my classes for the day, and one of them's a once-a-week creative writing course... FUCK! oh well, life goes on. so joe got here around 4-ish. he used his mighty powers and got my car out of its frozen stuckedness. all hail my mighty joe! once my car was free, i moved it into another parking spot (where it would later meet its doom -- ha! foreshadowing!) and joe and i went to borders to scope out travel books for Eurotrip 2005. we spent a good hour, maybe hour and a half there. it was splendid, i ended up buying a book, which is going to be EXTREMELY useful (provided it ends up that i can go...) and the other book we'll need is one that joe's gonna buy at a later date... because silly him, he forgot his wallet! *joe giggle*
after that we returned my movies from the other night (when movie store guy was "hitting on" me) and rented two more. one is Suicide Club and the other is Stage Beauty. SC was pretty interesting, however crooked it was. i have yet to watch SB, but after i go drop off my passport application, i'ma plop down and give 'er a try.
i made dinner for joe and me (garlic chicken and rotini) and we watched the first movie. then, because of the parking ban, he left earlier than he usually does.
after that, i was planning on going to go hang out with my friend phil. so i go to get in my car to head to his house, when lo' and behold... my fucking locks are frozen shut on BOTH SIDES and i can't even get into my car! major dilemma: can't drive to phil's house (pissed me off hardcore cause i wanted to see him) and even if i weren't going to phil's house... can't move my car for the parking ban, which means that whole towing pain in the arse. ARGH! i tried for about 10 minutes to get it unlocked, called phil to tell him what was going on, got really pissed at the situation and told him i'd call him back, tried for another 10 minutes, bawled my eyes out because i was so frustrated... aaaaand then broke the handle off of my driver's side door. the icing on the cake of the greatest day ever! i called phil back and was laughing-crying. he offered to come try to help, which was awesome. while i waited, i called joe. joe - just talking to you made me feel better, don't worry. everything ended up fine
so phil rescued me. we drove to a couple stores to try to find a de-icer type stuff... i'm told by several people that gas stations should carry this but NONE do! fucker. so i suggest he just take me back to his house and see what the parking ban fairies will do to my poor helpless Rita (car) come morning.
he brought me back home at around 12:15 today and... yep... Rita's gone. fuck me in the spleen. so i call the impound place and discover it's $95 to get my damn car back. i suppose it's not as bad as the $120 i heard it'd be. phil brought me to school (aaw) and after class i walked to the impound (a nice walk, i needed it) and got my beautiful car back. beautiful... i mean STUPID. now i have to crawl in the passenger side, but i can still get out on the driver's side. at least i have that, i suppose.
so in conclusion, things are stacking up against me on being able to do the Eurotrip. it must happen, i will make it happen. i don't want joe to go alone, at least.
how was your day yesterday?
in retrospect... my roommate and phil both have AAA and i coulda had them tow it for FREE to somewhere... DUH!
