I am so sick of people being mean to each other. Really. Is it that difficult is to be nice? To be polite even if you don't agree with the other person?
How hard is it to smile at a passer-by, to say hello or Merry Christmas?
Does it really take more effort than you can muster to compliment a stranger?
Would it kill you to get up and offer your seat to an elderly person? To stop what you are doing and open the door for someone - JUST BECAUSE IT IS A NICE THING TO DO?
And why stand behind a person in a store aisle - sighing and getting more and more irked - because he or she is in your way? Just say "Excuse me," and as you walk by say, "Thank You" - it's one of the many situations the words were invented for.
In the shadow of other things going on in the world today this may all seem so unimportant, but think about it: When someone goes out of their way to be nice to you, or when you have had a particulalry bad day and someone takes the time to give you a compliment on your pretty eyes or your nice smile (or...?) - doesn't it make you feel better? Doesn't it improve your attitude?
Wouldn't a whole lot of improved attitudes make each day a little nicer? Wouldn't a whole load of nicer days make you feel a whole lot better?
Really. I'm just asking.
