Good-bye, Mousey. Puck and I are heartbroken. We will always love you and miss you.
***
Mousey (left) was only six and a half years old. She and her brother, Puck, were dumped at a shelter when they were only three weeks old, along with the rest of their litter of six. They were not even done nursing when they were taken from their mamma.
I kept Mousey and Puck, initially because Mousey needed so much medical care--and then because I was absolutely in love with them. Mousey had many medical problems in her life, and thousands of dollars in vet bills. She was worth every penny and more to Puck and to me - and we'd give twice that much if we could only have her back.
Puck is grief stricken and so lonely. Not only has he never been without her--not since they were inside their mamma--but he is now blind, and without her to comfort and guide him, it is a very scary world. Just this morning there was a Very Scary Noise (rumbling trash cans) and poor Puck was hoping from place to place in his area, trying to find his sister to comfort him, but there was only me, so I held him and we had a little cry.
We just want her back.

Thanks for making me feel good.
I'm sorry about your pet. I just had my first dog pass away after 15 wonderful years. I wish you the best and I'm sorry for your loss.
I work with taxidermy and teach about grieving and death- and thats why that other thing found its way into my journal- which is why it is generally freinds only- because people know where I am coming from as opposed to someone who does not know me taking it in a bad way- re the humour thing. Not a good time to re-comment on that but i may as well. i think its a perfect photo for me to mention where the concept of easter and the original goddess Eostre (spelling varies) has been taken- as in, plastic eggs and she is basically dead to most of the world- its all chocolate.. c'est tout.
