Ah, the joys of having the beginning of the week off . . . yeah, right!
Today I indulged in a little thrifting and found several "kewl" shirts--three tees (because I love tee shirts) and a really spiffy dress shirt that will make me look more professional--no laughing in the back! I remember like it was yesterday when I was low on funds, wait . . . that was yesterday. Going to a GoodWill or a Salvation Army was actually salvation for the ol' wallet if you know what I'm saying. That, and it's TAX-FREE week in Florida. Oh yeah, that'll be $1.49 for that shirt Mr. JumpStreet. It's all about accessorizing people! I'm off tomorrow too, that could be dangerous--I'll be looking for thrift stores on my end of town rather than trolling through Kissimmee. Ah, I love my infrequent jaunts in ol' K-Town!
I'm now undertaking a wonderful chore of going through CDs, books, DVDs, clothes & other shit and piling 'em up to donate or sell in a garage sale. Yes folks, I want to start traveling lightly and gotta get rid of some excess stuff. I have too much "stuff." Mind you, I will keep my comic book collection and my unopened toys--those are my investments (a scene from "Garden State" comes to mind: "Don't tease me about my hobbies. I don't tease you about being an asshole!"). In the immortal words of Carson Kressley, "If you haven't worn it in a year, get rid of it." Well said. In my case, if I haven't listened to it, watched it, reread it AND didn't get all whacked out nostalgic about not listening, watching or rereading it, buh-bye. Spring cleaning in the middle of Summer. Yay me.
I indulged in another favorite pasttime of mine--mowing the lawn. Wow. You mow, you water, you even fertilize once in a blue moon and you've actually gotta keep up with the fucker! I followed the sage advice of a dear friend and actually wore SPF45 so I wouldn't get extra crispy. Last time I baked shirtless with an SPF4 (wtf?) and the 45 was only on my precious tattoos. Ha, needless to say the tats were WHITE compared to my embarassing redish hue. Not today though, I got some color on a cloudy day and my tats look like they almost match the rest of my skin tone. Again, yay me.
Sorry. Staring at my DVDs . . . rewatched "Lost In Translation" last night. What a beautiful movie, definitely worth watching over and over again. I will see Tokyo and geek out really badly when I do, I assure you.
Enough of this blogging stuff. I am going to go geek out on my PS2. Just got "Star Wars: Battlefront" a couple of days ago, and I'm enjoying shooting down the Jawas.
And I'm off . . .
