Hospitals SUCK!
More specifically: Waiting rooms in the ER suck.
I had an asthmatic fit last night, waking up nearly every hour to take a hit off my inhaler. Needless to say, by 7am, I was a wreck. My doctor couldn't see me and the walk-in clinic they suggested didn't take my insurance. So off to the ER for me . . .
I checked in at 9:30am and didn't get called in until 2:15pm. I got me a nice steroid injection in my right tattoo (which is still SORE as a muthafukka), two albuterol breathing treatments (which makes me jittery still as I type) and chest x-rays. Fun! At least I can breathe again.
Visit to the ER: $50
Prescriptions for drugs to make me feel better (but not really): $31
Time spent waiting for treatment: priceless . . . but it's nearly five hours of my life I can't get back. Oh yeah, and the fact that that leaves me $50 in my account until payday NEXT Friday.
Life is peachy. Really.
