I talk entirely too much and sadly, most of the times it's about Balki from Perfect Strangers.
This is the first blog I have posted on here. So it will probably sound sophmorish, or trite, or stupid, and all I can say is that is how I've always sounded. I'm slowly learning how to work this website, and its really awesome.
And I always feel weird posting blogs on other websites (mainly Myspace) because I can't ever really conjur up the image of someone caring about what kind of sandwich I ate, which episode of "Boy Meets World" I think is "hella awesome," or what bands I listened to while driving home. But much like I used to hate looking in the mirror, I've realized Im a fairly vain person and I enjoy seeing things Ive wrote or done afterwards and wondering what the fuck was wrong with me then.
I am a fairly opinionated person and Im the type of asshole who's gonna tell you that I'm always right. I know that I am wrong most of the time and thats why I don't argue with people anymore. I would much rather talk about The Weakerthans, ALF, how babies are born, or the Milwaukee Brewers than being told that I am wrong, sophmoric, trite, and stupid. Shit, I tell myself that enough. I don't need some pompous asshole to tell me that.
So, this is where I think some meaningful stuff I think might happen, but I doubt it.
About the only thing I feel like that needs reporting is last night. Last night, me and my brother from my ridiculous 'Bike Gang' (note: not like macho and cool motorcycle gang like in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure. Our 'bike gang' is a bunch of dudes in Against Me! t-shirts riding around haphazardly making jokes about G.G. Alin.)
Right, so there's the first pointless tangent.
Me and my friend Josh went out to Birgmingham and saw Tim Barry, Smoke or Fire, and The Draft.
I'll talk about Smoke or Fire and the Draft first even though they played before Tim Barry.
Smoke or Fire was really good as usual. They were playing as a three piece 'cause they're guitarist was in some kind of fucked up situation.
The Draft- really awesome seeing 3/4's of Hot Water Music play as they were one of both me and my brother's favorite bands back in the day.
Tim Barry- He and his super talented back up band played one of the best sets I have ever witnessed at Cave 9. (number one being Latterman back in '05.) He told jokes and inside stories and played all the songs I hoped he would. It also helped his case that he looked like he would be one of Josh's dad's drinkin' buddies.
Yeah, so there is that.
There is nothing better than screaming your voice out along to some of your favorite bands with some of your best friends. And everyone should check out Tim Barry, he's the frontman from the also great band, AVAIL.
I'm gonna go watch Arrested Development.
And listen to the Replacements and probably sleep.
