Recipe Of The Week: Turkey Bolognese
I only discovered Turkey Mince through neccesity one day when my taste-buds desired the hefty, hearty taste of either Beef or Lamb mince but couldnt afford it. So I turned to the cheap and surprisingly very healthy alternative of 500g Turkey Mince for $4.95 which ends up being able to feed about 4 people. The healthy factor was taken away once I added all the following little acoutraments, but goddamn its tasty.
Ingredients:
1x 500g Turkey Mince
Half a bottle of Low salt Tomato Cooking Sauce
1x shot Nandos Hot Peri Peri Sauce
1x tablespoon of Basil
1x packet of spiral or Penne pasta
Handful of grated cheese
Instructions:
Bring the pasta to boil, at the same time cook the mince on med-high heat. Add & stir in basil, add the PeriPeri sauce and Pasta sauce and mix/stir thoroughly. Mash the mince with a spatula as it somehow infuses and blends the peri peri and basil into it better. Mix it all up again. Serve pasta in a bowl, add mince on top, then add a decent amount of grated cheese and stir it through.
