Awesome weekend!
Saturday I worked until noon and then had lunch with my old skool friend from elementary school. We are so alike after all these years it is insane! At the restaurant we went to it was a parade of bad 80's hair cuts, everything ranging from the mullet to the side ponytail. I don't know if it was coincidental or maybe they were offering free 'ritas with bad hair.
Sunday I worked again until noon then I met up with Eric and his new roomie and we headed out to Disneyland, but not before we stopped at his sisters house for his nieces birthday. I love Erics family, they are all down to earth and sweet folks. After most of the people left I was promptly given a show and tell by the girls (his nieces) of the books they had just rented from the library. His youngest niece is into dinosaurs and his oldest niece is into mermaids, pretty cool thing for a girl her age. She is the one having the birthday, and believe it or not she doesn't want to grow up. That is the first time I have heard a child say they don't want to grow up!
So after that we headed out to Disneyland. Pretty packed for a Sunday evening in January, but we still had a nice walk around the park. I got my "now addicted to" pineapple whip and the boys got turkey legs (blech). Our lovely cast member friend got us a private audience with The Mouse (thanks midget!). After Disneyland we took off for Slidebar for a drink.
"Hubby" was happy to see us. He was busy bustin' out the boozamahol so I took they boys to the back to show them the Reagan Years arcade room. I wish you could have seen the look on Erics face, it was like a young boys wet dream. He immediately reached into his pants for quarters to start playing. It was cute. His roomie and I went back to the bar to gets drinks, "hubby" set us up and we were on our way back to the arcade. A little air hockey and a little asteroids and we were good to go. As we found Ricky to say goodbye he told us that we missed all the action. "?"
Apparently some drunk guy made his way around to the empty bar inside and starting making his own drink. Ricky found him and put him in a choke hold to drag him outside. As he got the drunky outside said drunkys friend saw this and put his hands around Rickys neck and started throttling him. Ricky got enough wind to shout out for the bouncer who immediately took out the friend and slammed him on the curb. The police were there within minutes.
After hearing that we decided it was our cue to take off. The boys had to work the next day and I was pretty tired from being up since 3am. Gave the "hubby" some love and off we went.
This upcoming friday I will be picking up PunkJr from the airport and we will be heading to Titos for dinner (gotta show him the best tacos in socal). During his stay we will be doing most of the following:
-Magic Mountain
-Disneyland
-Citywalk
-Hollywood
-Slidebar
-RocknRoll sushi
-Venice Beach
-whatever touristy crap I can think of
If you want to meet us at any of these places let me/him know.
toodles.
