Update time:
I really should update about my trip before I forget it.
Thursday:
Flight was 40 minutes late so the shots I did before the flight had totally worn off. Flight still wasn't as bad as I thought. SEA airport is rad, I love the zippy little train that transports you to the different terminals.
Luminaire picked me up and we went to his house to change for burlesque night. Had a great time at the show, the women were beautiful, but my two favs were obviously Sydni(for sheer cuteness) and a mime by the name of Veronica 143. The show was fun and the dancing afterwards was just as great. I had a great time hanging out with Trevor and having fun flirting.
Punkjr headed over after he got off work and we all went to Hurricane for a nosh. The ambiance was cool, the food sucked. Just as well because I packed up the rest to take home and had it for breakfast the next morning.
Friday:
Punk went off to work (at JACK) and I slept in and stayed in the aptly termed "bat cave" aka: his room and cuddled under the sheets while watching the local news. I thought L.A. newscasters were weird.... I was wrong. One of the anchor women kept a plus beanie baby husky on her head through out the whole news hour. Apparently I was in town during the big apple sauce (apple cup I know I know).
After the cabin fever started setting in I decided to enslave one of punks roommates to take me to the store so I could bake cookies for all his roommates. I got a mini tour of the area and took in the BEAUTIFUL scenery, and the cold . Got back, had a cigarette outside with Brandon (roommate) and met the next door cat DBK (drive by kitty), the softest and most adorable cat ever. She even keeps one paw up off the ground like a dainty little girly. So, made cookies, very gooey and very good and talked with Brandon and got to know him better, he has the most amazing collection of star wars and horror film collectables I have I've seen, real light saber handles, Freddies glove, even a staff and an Anubus mask from Stargate!!! Let me just say that anyone in Seattle who meets punks roommates should consider themselves lucky, they are the most loving, caring, down to earth people I've met.
Later in the day punk gets home from work, grabbed me and we headed off to his other job at IMAX. That boy is hot in his Quidditch robe . The theater was decked out Harry Potter stuff. They made posters for the walls representing different stores, a glass case containing potions and a cauldron for Snapes class, a dragon (dragon sounds) in the back room, they even had Moaning Myrtle in the bathroom!!! I met his co-workers and hung out in the lobby and people watched for a while. Then I got to sit in the back up top to watch the movie. A great movie and I really enjoyed it (though they left some things out). I sat next to punks friend Greg who dressed up as Prof. Lockheart. What a cutie, we had little comments through the whole film, it was great. So I could have seen the show twice in a row but I was having fun in the lobby with all the employees, though I did watch the last half of the second showing, so much fun. After work we went home and crashed.
Saturday:
Punkjr had all day off so today was sightseeing touristy dork day. First we went back to the Pacific Science Center (and the IMAX) so he could check on his croonies for the day and to make sure everything for the movie was set. Things great, we headed off to the Science Center to check out the exhibits. For the most part it was all kids exhibits but interesting none the less. We checked out the butterfly habitat, so beautiful. I loved the ones that looked like dead leaves on the outside but when they opened their wings they had a vivid blue and orange pattern with a little white in it.
After the Science Center we walked down the pathway outside to a huge fountain that looked like half a Death Star. It did water ballet to the music it played. We walked down the street to a pub called McMennimans and had lunch. REALLY GOOD mac n cheese and garlic bread. After lunch we walked towards the monorail but stopped at a smoke shop and bought vanilla cigarettes (a little treat) and a supermarket called Larry's because the boy lost a bet and owed me a soda. He got me a drink called Bawls that you can't really find in L.A.
It's like pure Guarana, after half the bottle my heart was beating like a humming bird. He finished off the rest of my soda because apparently if I threw it away he would have to kill me, that stuff is liquid gold to that man. lol
We found our way to the monorail and zipped along to downtown Seattle. They have little nutcracker statues painted by different people situated around town, very cool. We stopped in Sur la Table (can you blame me?) and had a look around. They had a sale on Henckle bread knives so I bought one, how could I not? After that we walked down the street to Pike Place and I got a little tour of the outdoor market. One of the fish monger booths had a whole intact monk fish! It was great, they tied a string to the mouth and set it on the ice so if someone walked up to look at it the pulled the string to make it talk and scare the passer by. I have seen the fish tossers on t.v. many a time so I'm not really disappointed that I didnt see them toss fish. A couple booths had these pepper wreaths that were REALLY very cool and I kind of regret not buying one. But on the plus side I did buy some really cool stuff for my family. I was really digging walking around underground through the shops and stuff. I want to go back there again someday and really check it out thoroughly.
We had to start making our way back so we could go to the SGSeattle dinner that night. But not before a stop at the pirate store and a neat curio shop. On the way back to the monorail we walked past the Rocky Mountain chocolate company and some guy was hanging out samples. We walked past, stopped, looked at each other, turned around and walked back to snag a sample.
Snagged a sample, walked away, ate, looked at each other again, turned around and walked in to buy one. We got a caramel apple rolled in reeses pieces. *drool*
Stowed that in the bag with all my treasures and we headed back to the monorail and back to the car.
We showed up at the Broadway Grill just in time for the early bird special. Let me just say that smoking indoors is fun. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a vanilla cigarette right after my amazing meal of a caesar salad, miso crusted flank steak and yukon gold mashed potatoes and a mudslide. So incredibly yummy!!! While at dinner I saw Freckle and her boy again, the pimptress Sydni and her two boy toyes, and met JudasGrey, a fellow chef, it was great talking shop with someone over a nice meal in a relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed the evening. But it wasn't over yet.
After dinner a few of the kids and punk and I went to the Rickshaw for drinks and karaoke.
I sang two songs (horribly) and everyone else got into the act soonre or later. Let me see if I can recall who all was there:
Going around the table there was Tawnya, Trevor, Dreammaker, Punkjr, Luminaire, Dreammakers g/f Amber, me, SupremePizzaMan, Trevallion and Sydni. I think the two songs I am happiest to have witness were Dreammakers Sweet T and Punkjr and Sydnis version of Love Shack. Very cool.
6 shots of Jagger later and I was ready for bed, not drunk just tired and a little tipsy. Home again home again jiggity jig.... or in punks case jiggity jog.
Sunday:
Punkjr had to work at IMAX in the morning so my sisters friend Jen came and picked me up for some more touristy action. She took me to breakfast at Beths and then we went to the zoo. IT WAS FRICKEN COLD!!!! I had on my bondage pants, a sweater, two layers of socks and my docs AND my kitty hoodie with the mittens and I was still cold. The first animal we saw was my beloved lion. Unlike the lazy bastards at the L.A. zoo this lion was walking around, and actually jumped up on a rock and started roaring. I was so happy to see that, I got the warm fuzzies in my tummy. The park was great, but it was so cold that whenever there was an indoor exhibit jen and I ran into it and stayed for a while so warm up. The other really interesting exhibit that I loved was the nocturnal exhibit, I saw the gray fruit bats that were HUGE, as big as Shal and Beans dog Learoy. They were also very comical and entertaining. After seeing all the cute critters we stopped in the atrium for hot chocolate. Let me tell you! I normally don't drink hot drinks and enjoy them, it's overrated for someone who can wear open toed shoes year round. That hot chocolate was the best I had ever had. Why? Because it was freezing out and that made it all that more enjoyable!
After the zoo Jen took me to see the Fremont Troll, I didn't really climb on him, but I did walk on his hand. I wonder how the house across the street feels having such a thing right across the street from them. I'd think it's pretty nifty.
Jen dropped me off at the Science Center and Punkjr, but she didn't leave until we toured the butterfly house again. This time I got to see a butterfly emerge from it's cocoon and watched as it's wings filled with fluid and dried out, I've never seen that before it was insane! After work Punk and I took his co-worker Cat home. The cutest girl ever, she kind of reminded me of Tegan for some reason. We dropped her off and went to PetCo to get mice for his snake Sid and dinner for us too. I decided that mice just weren't filling enough for me and we decided just to get those for Sid and get us Dicks instead. I have to say that it is just like In n Out, but I like In n Out better. Back at home we fed Sid, vegged out and watched Family Guy and ate that caramel apple we bought the day before.
Monday:
With him working and me with nothing to do but sleep in and pack his roommates decided to take me out to lunch. But not before we checked out Cupcake Royale. I dropped fifty dollars there in cupcakes and swag. One of my pricless items is a button that says ASK ME ABOUT MY CUPCAKES. I'm wearing that on my chefs jackets for the next week. After that Brandon took me to Archie McPhee's which is like a novelty shop of sorts. I wish we had something like that in L.A. it was fun looking through all the toys and gags they carried, but I didn't see plastic puke. BUT... they did have band aids that looked like strips of bacon. Thinking back I should have bought those. darn.
Brandon and met his g/f (punkjrs other roommate) Beth dowtown on her lunchbreak and they took me to lunch downtown.
The highlight of the whole meal was me going to the restroom. I asked the hostess where they were, "Outside, down the hall to the left, the code is 1969)" I go outside, walk into the bathroom and do my thing. I hear someone else come in and think nothing of it. Finish up, flush, go out to wash my hands..... THERE IS A GUY IN THERE. We look at each other for a second (he was done already) and I start laughing my ass off. He looks for a second and says, "Wow, I think I am in the wrong room." I assured him that it was more likely I was. We washed our hands and talked a little and on the way out we turn around and sure enough it was the mens room. I looked at him and said, "Oh well, you win some you loose some." and we parted ways. I got back to the table and started crying with laughter, between breaths I told Brandon and Beth what happened, giggles ensued. We left and walked Beth back to her office and we headed home to wait until I had to go to the airport.
Going back to the airport was hurried, I almost didn't make my flight. I wouldn't have been surprised if Punkjr picked me up and threw me across the security gate to get me through. But I made it on time and the flight back was a little early too. My father picked me up and we went to Titos to have dinner and wait out traffic. Cineman joined us for our meal and him and I got to catch up since we haven't seen each other in quite a while.
Now home, thanksgiving was great, my aunt and uncle and cousins got to hold their great nephew for the first time. Everyone liked my new tattoos. Caught up with family on personal events and the like. I'm thankful to have such a close family.

I just posted an SGLA photoset of some ol' ass pics from Fred 62's circa 2/05. Check them out cause you're in 'em.
