Everything was insane! I was a mess of nerves, and nothing was going right. Well, that's not exactally true. I mean, I was able to pull off getting the two families together without arousing her suspicion, and I did finally get the nerves to ask her family, and it went so well. They were so happy right off the bat. But the resturant wasn't taking reservations, and when I called ahead for seating, they said there was no need, because it was a Monday night and they wouldn't be that busy. Of course when we arrived, it was PACKED. Then I was trying to get a table in the back so we could have a little privacy, however the only table available was right in the very middle of the damn resturant. Wouldn't ya know it! I'm already freaking out inside, and now to up the pressure, I'm right in the middle of a crowded resturant, and I know that I am soon to be the focus of all attention. Anyway, everyone was on time, and we all had an excellent dinner. The food was great, and the drinks kicked ass. I had a few to calm the nerves and all. After everyone had finished dinner, I decided it was time. So I begin to thank everyone and I started to talk about our relationship a little, ya know, setting the scene a little, when the waiters all came out and started singing "happy birthday" to the table next to me. Great! Right when I build up to my big finish, and now I have to stall. Whatever, we have come this far, no turning back. So I backtrack a little, and I told a story about how on our first date, she was supposed to go out with her sister after the Hockey game we were at, but I called her sister and told her that I was sorry, but her sister was just too damn beautiful to let get away from me, and I was kidnapping her for the evening. I explained the significance of us all getting together on the 11th, and said thank you to her family for changing their plans so they could be with us. Then, I took a deep breath and went for it. I said "well, there is another reason why I wanted to get everyone together tonight", and I pulled out the ring and went down on one knee. The entire resturant went dead silent. I was very aware that every eye was on me. I'm not sure who was funnier, her or her sister. They both freaked out and started crying. I told her that ever since that first night, I had never changed my mind. Not only did I not want to be away from her that night, I never wanted to be away from her ever again. I said "will you marry me?"
