So the boy formerly known as co-worker pulled through after all!
He finally came online at 4:30 and told me to meet him outside of H&M on 51st and 5th, at 7:30. Of course I get there about thirty minutes early, and it's pouring rain, so I kill time sitting in the store and getting whacked into by antsy little kids I wanted to back-hand. He shows up about ten to eight, and off we go. Imagine me skipping through the entrance of Radio City Music Hall, half soaked, but totally shaky with excitement.
We had really great seats; second mezzanine, third row center.
It was an amazing, amazing show. He played for two hours, and all but one or two songs were old. So great. I only recognized about half of what he played, but the songs I knew completely had me singing along happily and tapping my feet. When he performed "Levon," which is one of my favorites, the entire audience jumped up at the end and gave him a standing ovation. And when he played "Philadelphia Freedom" the entire orchestra section of audience members were dancing in the aisles and in their rows. His encore songs were "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" and "Your Song."
I can't imagine what show will ever top this.
