I went down to LA today for a casting call for some movie, but it didn't work out. Turns out they only wanted was black males for the role, which something that should have been mentioned when they called me up to audition. Pretty upset about having to shave, drive an hour and a half only to find that out.
Since I was in the area I went to visit my grandpa in Venice. He's pretty cool, but pretty lonely since my grandma left him a few years back. I stayed with him for a couple hours and ordered a pizza and sub sandwich for us. He seemed happy to have the company and starving for food. I feel sad for him most the time and how his life has changed for the worse in his more recent years. His kids who live near him don't visit him and don't show him any respect. He just sits around in his little bongolow house and watches TV.
He got a DVD player for christmas along with some DVDs, but didn't have a clue of how to hook it all up, so i helped him out with all of that and ahowed him how to use it. I don't think he got quite all of it though.
I watched some of the Super Bowl with him. Don't care much for football, or sports for that matter, but it was nice to hear him rant about all of the plays by the refs. He was rooting for Seattle- good for him I thought, I wasn't rooting for anyone.
I drove to venice beach afterwards, but it was all foggy and there were only homeless people at this time of the night so I left and went to seal beach. It was decent. Still really foggy, but there were some things open and i got to walk to the end of the pier and back. Lots of childhood memories there. When I was going back to the car I picked up some ice cream from cold stone. Felt guilty about it since I had it just yesterday as well, but who can pass up ice cream?
I arrived back home a little while ago and let my dog and my mom's dog outside to go to the restroom. They both seemed rather excited to have human contact after being alone for a few hours.
Not much else to say. I was hoping to talk to Susie through AIM, but she wasn't around... maybe I'll catch her later... she seems like a nice enough person. At the very least I'm not annoyed by her, which is an accomplishment for me- most people bug the hell out of me... I guess it's just a tick that I have, whatever.
