I recieved a letter from my sister in Washington yesterday. It was a late Christmas card and included a gift card to BestBuy. I went to the store today and bought a CD with it. I heard the band "Death Cab for Cutie" on XM radio and liked them so I figured I'd give them a try. So far everything with them is pretty good. They have this one song called "I'll follow you into the dark" which has come to be my initial favorite. I'm hoping that they continue to be good. Sometimes I'll hear a band which is new to me and think that they are really good, then later I'll turn around and wonder how I ever liked them.
Something I have yet to mention, in regards to my sister, is that she's been sick for the entiety of her life. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when she was two and a half and from about the age of four she has been in and out of the hospitol. I can't really complain about the delay of the Christmas card because I know that she has limited mobility right now and that her husband works long hours- he's in the navy. I'm not a big fan of him due to the fact that he's a control freak, which makes him intollerable to be around. He's a great match for my sister though since he'll pretty much force her to take her medication when she's too mentally out of it to know to take it.
On another note, I'm going over to a friends house today to watch Bush's state of the union address. I don't have cable coming into my house- I really don't like commercial TV at all- so I will just tag along with some who does on the blue moon events that I actually want to see. To be completely honest I have a feeling that Bush might actually abandon some of his issues in order to gain support from the left. Nomatter what happens there is one thing that we can be assured of- Every other sentence will be interupted by a standing ovation. I really wish that people would just let someone speak and at the very end applaud if it is truely necessary.
