.....well the 37th INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL has started in the big smoke....and WOW, what a weekend a quality cinema it has been.....
...all started with The Edukators in the comfort and mind-blowing enclosure of the Civic theatre, it really was beautiful and the film was excellent; jeff buckley performing HALLELUJAH towards the resolution took my breath away, very funny dialogue too..heh
....this was followed by DIG!, which i loved so much im having to go again and take my buds along who simply just must see this....looks like such a fun world and i really wanna hear more of the Brain Jonestown Massacre now.....
....Dumplings is the film that had intrigued me the most and it kicked me in the teeth when it was unvieled last night, simply beautifully twisted and the cinematography was so lush and gorgeously rich with colour, it was surreal and didn't rely of cheap gimmicks to chill the base of the spine.......a girl a few seats from me was squriming with disgust and there was an erries silence of the audience.........it created much debate between my buds, we talked about it for hours.......
........so yes, this week schedule is as follows...my big week is the following...seems they are all at the end the ones i wanna see, and hearing that Jim Jarmusch's new film is playing with Bill Murray just made me so excited, heh.....
MONDAY
...this should be a frisky lush trip...heh
FRIDAY
...wong kar-wai blows me away, it was his cinematographer responsbile for the lush surreal scape in Dumplings. so im in for another glorious treat..
....this should be fucking hilarious, doco's on the porn world in that golden era are priceless..heh
....French horror's leave me cowering, im hoping this will be a throwback to this campy slasher films but will be scary as hell....i think the original title is cooler though Switchblade Romance, heh
...ahh the joy of cinema
