if my life were a movie
i would light a cigarette
and the smoke would curl around my face
everything i do would be interesting
i'd play the good guy
in every scene
.....but what
what if no one's watching
what if when we're dead, we are just dead
what if there's no time to lose
what if there's things we gotta do
things that need to be said
Ani DiFranco- What if No One's Watching?
.....mmmm yes been loving me a lot of Ani at the moment, she is beautiful...............well Easter came and went as it does.....we were supposed to have really bad weather this weekend, but it was quite lovely, very erratic, swaggering from sunnnyside hot to bitter lip burning cold without warning coupled with some heavy fun-filled downpours of rain which would dissipate in no time at all once the sun answered back to the smatterings of water adorning the ground......
.......me went camping in this serene beautiful regional park near a waterfall with some buddies, it was great....we were all after a time of relaxation with the odd bouts of hedonism, since being in a place miles from any civilisation renders ones imagination sky high.......there was lots of full volume sing alongs to Beatles songs among others; the days were filled with sun, adventourous walks, evading the deadly 'cutty grass', sitting by the stream and romanticising about the world, the amazing density of trees; taking photos.....when the light faded it gave way to reckless nights of fun and mischief, wide eyes, blazing smiles and lots of eyes staring into the blanket of stars, losing ourselves.......i loved sleeping in a tent again too....brought on flashbacks of me as a lil one camping out in the backyard with my stash of munchie goodness...hehe
......im floating around up in Auckland at the moment, staying with mr.tata beast who has a week away from work, so lots of time for mischief.....we have converted the flat into a kind of drive-in movie theatre since he has a projector, a field of pillows and blanches line the floor as we watch lots of movie goodness and Seinfeld re-runs.....that cracks me the fuck up everytime...good god, George...yeh, so funny......have been watching lots of old school scary films, the omen, rosemary's baby etc....must be the change in weather bringing on the run for the horror section....hmmm
....also watched Shark Tale after arising from the lazy morning slumber, i loved it, got totally lost, and loved all the Godfather references, hehehe.....oh and i watched Greg Araki's recent movie-trip, Nowhere....quite crazy indeed, but what can one expect from such an auteur; i thought Kathleen Robertson who played LUCIFER was so fucking cool......and Rose McGowan's cameo, very whacked movie all colourful and psychedelic...
...so my plan for the week, do lots of photography, play lots of guitar since my black acoustic beast has been all shined up and re-strung, given a new life, its such a pleasure to play now.....couldn't believe how dirty the fret board was!!!......drink lots of yummy beers, get lost in foreign neighbourhoods, daydream in Illicit HQ, so record shopping; cook lots of healthy meals and read a book.....everyone up here is raving about The DaVinci Code...so I mite get myself lost in that.......
...been listening to lots of girl rock-bands as always....nothing is hotter than a girl with a guitar singing with such raw passion....
.... Adalita rocks!!
...songs im totally loving at the moment:
Magic Dirt - PACE IT, teeNage VaMPiRe...
