Putting this under the category of adventure, even though there is a work category....I'm changing jobs and I feel like it will be an adventure. New location. New experiences. New responsibilities. New coworkers. New bosses. New patients.
It's exciting and a little frightening. I will be pretty much on my own for the first time in my medical career. That's a lot of responsibility.
But a life worth living must involve taking chances and advancing and learning. Taking new paths. Exploring.
I don't know if I would call it "the road less traveled" but it's a road I haven't traveled before, anyway.
Everyone has experiences like this occasionally. First day at school. Meeting a new group of friends. First date. Trying out for a new part in a play. Or even a hopeful putting a set out here and wondering what everyone is going to think.
Risk.
Excitement.
Fear.
Adventure.
Life.

Have confidence-good luck!
And about the oil spill-I think it depends how you look at catastrophe. Yes, this is definitely HUGE and overwhelming, but I think of things like how 90% of the big fish in the ocean are gone, the sudden collaspe of songbird populations, mass extinction of amphibians, the tar sands, plastic. This oil spill could very well outweigh all of these. I just fear that people are deeming this such a disaster because of the human toll as well, and aren't fully realizing how totally fucked we already were, but most certainly are now!
Have a great day!
