So tomorrow night I will be playing an acoustic set at a local venue. This will be the first time I have performed live in about 2 years. As some of you know, I had to get rid of all my music gear when my wife delivered our youngest. She came early and her and my wife had a lot of complications. We spent a couple months in the hospital. I gave up my gear to help pay for expenses sincentives neither of us were able to work for awhile. I have have managed to finally get some new gear. Tomorrow night a buddy of mine and his band are playing a show. I will be performing 5 songs acoustically by myself during one of their breaks. I play a wide range of genres and picked 5 songs to help show of different styles. I am hoping this will help me get some of my own shows booked again. The songs I will be playing are:
Chris Young- I'm coming over
The Cranberries- Zombie
3 doors down- Let me go
Blackstreet- No Diggity
Kansas- Carry on my wayward son
I am seriously nervous. I struggle with anxiety on a daily basis and music is one of the few things that helped me. I have been without it for 2 years and I'm so nervous I won't be able to perform as well as I used to. I'm really nervous about playing the Kansas song. It's not exactly easy to pull off by myself on acoustic. However, I feel if I can pull it off itd be a great way to end my set and hopefully get people interested in seeing more.
So yea... that's my plans for Friday night
