I just finished day 5 of the Insanity workout. Today was pure cardio and it pure kicked my ass. I am currently sitting in the tub soaking my kegs in warm water cause I am sore something serious. I've got one more day before I get to take a day off. Even tho I am tired and sore I do feel pretty good about it. The problem I am having is with my diet. I am used to chowing down on whatever whenever and eating till I feel like I am about to bust. And I used to drink a 12 pack of soda every 2 days or so. But not anymore. I am down to one soda a day (if that) and only drinking water. I have cut out all other sugars, starches, and grains. Strictly meats and veggies right now. I get a break day on sundays. And I am limiting the portion I eat at any given time. If I need a snack it's either a small thing of yogurt or a few carrots. THIS SHIT IS TOUGH! I have done really good so far, but it is hard. I keep getting these late night cravings and having sugar withdrawal. I am going to do my best and stick to this diet as long as I can.
I have also decided not weigh myself. I last weighed in November at 230lbs. I haven't weighed since and I would like to go as long as possible without weighing. I'm not so worried about what number the scale says as I am how I look and feel. I want to look in the mirror and see a difference. This may seem like an odd strategy but it seems to be working. I have tried to get fit in the past and always got frustrated by the number on the scale. I've been dieting and walking for a little over 3 weeks and am 5 days in on the Insanity workout and I don't feel discoraged yet.
I am also planning on going to the local gym and see about a personal trainer. Have any of you used a personal trainer before. What was your experience like. And any tips on keeping myself motivated in my goals?
