Last night in the basement of some bar in the middle of Denver I found her. She's not a stranger, but also no longer a friend, but instead so much more. Amongst the drunken people and the local bands we sought out a cozy corner where we could watch the people move, dance, and be free for the night. We talked casually before locking eyes, then lips. Hands went from under legs to intertwined fingers, from upon laps to around shoulder to gently brushing each others arms. The music played on, the people danced around and time simultaneously speed up and stopped. It was their last show, but our first moment a bitter juxtaposition of the death on one era and the beginning of another.
