Chapter Two (or, "In which Jqnathan goes back to The University to see old friends, and kisses one of them, and now misses her even more, and doesn't know what to do about it):
I went back to The University for a friend's birthday on Tuesday night. The plan was that I would take The Girl out for dinner, and then we would meet up with The Birthday Boy afterwards to do a little birthday drinking.
The Girl and I decided that we would meet at 9:30, in front of her dorm. I got there a few minutes early, and sat down to smoke a cigarette and wait. There was a guy standing about fifteen feet away from me. He looked really shy. The Girl came down to open the door, and saw us both standing there. Our conversation went something like this:
Girl- Hi. (turns head to look at Shy Guy) Hi.
Me- Hi, it's so good to see you!
Shy Guy- Uh, hi (girl's name).
Girl- (give me an awkward hug. Gives shy guy air kisses while he plants one firmly on her cheek).
Not exactly the welcome I was hoping for.
She does the whole introduction bit, and chats with Shy Guy for a few minutes. Shy Guy leaves. I am sitting on a knee wall, and she is standing about two feet in front of me. We look each other in the eyes for a solid minute, then kiss. It is a very good kiss.
Girl- So, uh, Shy Guy was the boy in my bed when you called me the other night.
Me- Yeah, I kind of figured that.
If I were superstitious, this would would definitely be a bad sign.
We go out to dinner at The Expensive Romantic Restaurant. It is one of the best dinners I have ever had. The conversation is amazing. We both learn that the other one wants to work for non-profit organizations (keep in mind, it has been a very long time since we've really talked, and our plans have changed considerably since I left The University), and that there are several other remarkable similarities between us that were not previously apparent. We drink a bottle of wine. Dinner ends.
We go to The Birthday Boy's apartment. He is already passed out. It is five minutes past midnight. If I were superstitious, this would would definitely be a bad sign.
We (Myself, The Girl, The Crazy Drunk Alaskan, The Token White Kid, and several others) go out to a nearby dive bar. We get drunker. I see a few more old friends, dance a lot, and have a really good time. After last call (which is at 1:00 in Massachussetts), we go back to The Birthday Boy's apartment and hang out.
To make a long story short, The Girl and I end up making out several more times throughout the night, in between which she reveals to me that she really wants to sleep with the one guy I didn't get along with at school, and that she is still sort of seeing the Texan girl she met in Ireland. These are not necessarily bad things. Our friendship is a very good one.
However, if I were superstitious, this would would definitely be a bad sign.
I wake up on Wednesday morning, and leave, and haven't really known what to do with myself since.
Edited to say: profile picture coming soon.

since yr friendship is a very good one - keep it at that.
if later, she sorts things out and wants a relationship or friends with benefits or whatever, then go for it if its what you want. tho right now it sounds like her hands are a bit full
I've been to Piermont exactly twice. For some reason my mom loves it, thinks its cute or something.
I live in Yonkers so i suppose anything that isn't Yonkers is cute?
Eh, who knows.
Good luck.
