Long days and longer nights. I am in Maine now helping my mom out with my stepdad. He had a brain hemorrhage and was in the hospital for a couple of weeks. They never could find the bleed and still don't know what caused it. They decided to send him home anyway, addicted to Oxycontin and in danger of having an aneurysm.
It is not an if, it's a when. I more than likely won't be here when it happens, I have to go back the 27th. I hope none of you ever have to live with, or have ever had to live with an addict. I literally have to keep his meds on me at all times.
If I don't he'll eat them like candy. I sleep maybe two hours a night total now. I grind my teeth so bad when I do sleep that I chipped two of them. My entire body hurts and I have a buzzing in my ears that sounds like the emergency broadcast system. Besides all that and being caught in a pissing contest between certain family members, the world is my oyster.
To my tormenters, my tolerance for pain and punishment is legendary. Everyday I get stronger and every day it gets easier. You have no power over me anymore.
