Thanks to all of you who sent me birthday and christmas greetings! I always appreciate it. You're all the best!!
It was a nice quiet birthday/christmas. I did not ask for presents this year. Just money. I did some last minute christmas things on my birthday and went to the Irish Emigrant for a birthday dinner of Fish & Chips and a couple of Harp Lagers. I went out for a long walk. It's amazing how quiet it gets on Christmas Eve at night. Nothing was open so I just sat at home drinking Guinnesses and playing computer games.
Christmas Day was equally quiet and uneventful. I was expecting Kim (the girl I am kind of seeing!) and some other people with her. I cooked and had my first Tofurky with potatoes, carrots, gravy, carnberries, and pecan pie. I also bought some Jameson's and Bailey's Irish Creme to make some "Irish Car Bombs". Sadly, Kim called me to let me know she was not going to make because she felt sick. So here I was with all of this food. I figured "Aw...fuck it!" and went on with the feast on my own. I don't think I am going to do such a big feast again if nobody is going to show up for this. It's too much of a hassle so next time I am not bothering.
I hope New Year's will be more exciting. I am hoping to take Kim out for Japanese food and some bar crawling, Maybe some dancing as well. I only hope I feel better before then. I am starting to get stuffed up. As for Kim, I hope she will be up for it as I am not planning on staying home for New Year's.
Tomorrow I have to return to work. It feels so weird to have to go back to work right after Christmas. For 12 years, the companies I worked for always closed down between Christmas and New Year's. I guess I got spoiled.
