John Peel R.I.P.
For those of you who wonder what who the hell I am talking about, John Peel was a D.J. on the BBC who played a lot of obscure, eclectic music and helped the careers of many artists like The Undertones, Joy Division, Blur, Radiohead, The Smiths, P.J. Harvey and countless others. He was a fixture on the BBC for 35 years. He passed away from a heart attack while visiting Peru. He was 65 years old. Without his help, many of the bands you enjoy would probably have not been heard of so join me in a toast to Mr. Peel.

A sad day for music fans. I grew up listening to Peel. He opened my ears and my mind. Hard to believe he's gone.
