I got a friend request rejected today by somebody who's name I refuse to reveal but here was his reasoning followed by a rebuttal.

"As you've no doubt figured out by now I turned down your friend request. But I'm about to explain why as I figure I owe you that much AND because I know I'd appreciate the gesture from someone who did the same with me.
My first and only introduction to you was a comment you left in a journal to the effect that SG Seattle were a bunch of snobs who don't care to take the time to make newcomers feel welcome. Being that I am a member and that these are my friends, I figured that I was either directly implicated in that or at least guilty by association. In any case, I haven't found anything to be further from the truth.
I'm not about to say I won't have anything to do with you. Hell, I'm perfectly willing to give you the benefit of the doubt if you'd come out to an actual event. But in the meantime this is where we stand...."
Never EVER did I say the people in SG Seattle were snobs. I think this was a misunderstanding. I know some people have been going through some friction with one another in and around the group but I have never said everybody were snobs. I think he misunderstood me. I said that certain people in the Seattle "underground" scene or whatever were snobs. I have known many of the people in SG Seattle and I have no real problem with them. I refuse to be dragged into the mud by whoever thinks I said that SG Seattle people are snobs. It is BULLSHIT!
As for coming out to SG functions, I am hoping to do so once my money situation improves. You can bet on that.
I thought I would get that off my chest.
Now it's time to grab a beer!

mistersatan:
Don't let it get you down. Seriously.

Yeah, but right now she's laying in her bed with her head turned and her ears (that are ten times too big for her head) cocked and giving me those big puppy dog eyes, and it's totally worth it.
