Georgia beat Florida today. It's always a good day when the Dogs beat the Gators.
I've been reading through a lot of the editorials posted to the main SG page. And they bother me.
I am a conservative and tend to vote Republican. However, I do not agree with major sections of the party platform and I do not vote exclusively Republican. I like to keep an open mind and continue to educate myself on issues. For example, I am for gay marriage and am pro-choice. The influence of the Christian right in this country really bothers me and there are times me thier influence and control of the Republican party drives me nuts. But when it comes to economic issues or defense of this country I find the policies of the left to be very frightening. I've also worked in healthcare my entire career and am deathly afraid (no pun intended) of the plans on the left to socialize medical care in this country.
But what bothers me most is the inability of most people in this country to engage in civilized debate on these and other issues. I think this site is a perfect example of that. The editorials posted by a lot of the editors on this site (FearTheReaper being the prime example) refuse to accept the possibility that conservatives may have some things right. And they attacks on the President are just juvenile. They weren't necessary when the attacks against Clinton came from the right and they aren't necessary from the left against Bush. Can't we disagree on issues with attacking the person.
When I read these posts I often become depressed and hope that those that blog on a regular basis aren't representative of how most of America thinks.
Otherwise, I think we are in big trouble.

I still think you're wrong about everything, of course. Civility doesn't change that.
