2766 miles in 9 days. not bad.
i have this ongoing feud with US-6 North in Utah - the Soldier Summit Highway. supposedly the weather there isn't usally that bad, but goddamn if that mountain doesn't try to kill me every time i try to cross that pass. ulysses doesn't have a thing on me. salt lake sucked - the freeways did, anyway - but that's hardly new.
i discovered that idaho weather in mid-march is either snow or dust storms, pretty much non-stop. boise is small and reminds me of where i live.
eastern oregon and the columbia river valley was green and gorgeous. the mormons are confused - zion is actually about 600 miles northwest of what they thought.
portland was grey and green and lush and rainy. got to see my friends (swingkitten, Eris, drewish) and made new ones (dr_knownothing) - and lotsa people who (for some reason) aren't on SG. leaving portland is always hard, but the ache was pretty intense this time. wish i could have had more time with you guys.
reno was fun - got to see my crazed ex-roomies and ate backwoodsy diner food (nice counterpoint to all the thai and ethiopian in portland).
in other news, an exceptionally good kisser is coming to visit me in 18 days. i saw her briefly in reno on my way back, and we need to finish some bidness.
nothing like some serious movement to bring you back to the center.
new pic: swingkitten gave me a ganesh finger puppet. he is pictured here removing various obstacles!

swingkitten:
You said you'd burn me whatever we were listening to in the car. it was neato d&b, though I don't know *who* it was. your brother wanted to hear it, I think.
