there is a decided lack of passion in my life. that distresses me.
here is why i have struggled with traditional buddhism: i refuse to give up passion. i think there is room for passion, and compulsion, because these feelings are a natural part of human existance. commonly, these would be associated as symptomatic of samsara - the veil of suffering that obscures our concept of the universe as-it-truly-is. i don't know if i believe that. ultimately, all roads lead to rome (or nirvana) - hence tantrayana buddhism. in tantra, you follow the left-hand path, and immerse yourself in the sensual realm. however, it's a very slippery path, and tantra is taught by masters. no tantrika is supposed to go it alone. i question that a lot.
maybe i should've posted that in the eastern religion group. whatever.
something else i've been thinking about:
as sg grows, and the lowest common denominator goes even lower, i worry that the people i relate to around here will slowly start to disappear. that's how it works everywhere else - online and off. that's just the way of things. i hope that the groups + journals will stave off the exodus.

the 100th sg monkey will come if it has'nt already and the collective will be dilluted and cheapened...
im sometimes so thankful for the chinese, because of their lack of belief in the bible, or the koran,(at least for the most part) they help keep our collective conciessness from doing ourselves in. for now
also. i am sad that it all seems like disappearances will be on the rise... i feel like i got here (here being sg) too late... meh.
xo!
