ok, i am back in colorado.
my brother and i left tucson at sundown, and drove drove drove. we were going to see my uncle in flagstaff, but had no luck reaching him. this makes me a bit nervous - he has some severe health problems, and it's not like him to flake.
we crossed the hopi and navajo nations late last night. on a stretch of road near US 160 between tuba city and kayenta, i stuck my face against the cold window and watched the stars overhead. the only light came from the thousands of distant stars and the too-close glowing dashboard. i could only look for a few seconds at a time: it made me dizzy to look that far backwards.

I'd like to live in the forest or something for a few months.
My dad always about his hippy days when he lived in the woods of northern california for a year without TV or phone.
I met guys travelling who had spent months or years out in the counryside of India and Thailand.
That's my fantasy, to get some place in nature out of country and just live there.
the mtn. goats go on a joyride(r)!
you remind me of that built to spill song..."joyride". (i bet you didn't see that coming.)
