so i went to the store today. this is the first time i have been to an actual grocery store in this silly little town that i now inhabit. i bought:
- butternut squash soy soup
- soy milk
- various whole veggies
- some boneless chicken in shiny cello wrap
- some mango juice (i thought of s5, too)
the bag boy looks at all the grub i have and says: "whatcha gonna do with all this? ain't you got no real food?"
so i tell him, "no, man, i lived on the west coast for too long and can't bring myself to eat real food anymore." - which isn't true - i eat evil food when it is put in front of me, but i am trying to eat lower on the food chain these days. regardless, the bag boy seemed satified with my answer, and looked at me suspiciously with his beady eyes.
sometimes i forget how far i am from where i wanna be. i miss portland.

"humma-who-huh?"
"hummus, it's middle-eastern... usually eaten with pita bread... chick peas?"
"peta what now?"
"pita bread... you know?"
"we don't got none of that now" with a slowly shaking head....
i noticed whilest reading earplugs journal your musings on coleridge...pretty amazing for a dopefiend, i agree!
so, we're pretty on par as far as our existentialist readings go. besides camus and kafka i've only read essays...people like heidegger, sartre, & jaspers. and these were a couple years ago when i was still a lit major. but, i think sartre is a really good place to go if you want to really delve into existentialism.( ;
