i have a staph infection! 
i woke up yesterday morning and my leg was wrong: it was red (really red), swollen, and hurt a lot. i was thinking that maybe i twisted it or something when i was working out, but that didn't seem likely since i think i would've noticed twisting my ankle. i don't have insurance, and i have a pretty strong immune system, so i figured i'd wait it out. this was a bad idea. by late afternoon i had a fever of 102 and was starting to get delirious. i got a ride to the ER and they poked at me for a while and finally told me i had some evil cellulitis in my leg (by this point it was halfway to my knee) and so they put me on antibiotics (2000mg per day) and told me to watch it. my fever broke this morning around 7 and i feel better though my leg still looks like shit. it occured to me that if this were 1903 instead of 2003 i'd probably be fucked. hooray for modern medicine.
if nothing else, i have an excuse to use the rad skully icon:
...so have you ever had any weird diseases or conditions?

the leg isn't sore or red anymore, but my ankle's the size of a big haggis. ew. i had a dream that it was full of yellowjackets and congealed blood, too.
