yesterday was my first day working for the evil coffee empire that is starbucks. I don't care what anyone says about corp. coffee, this company rocks. they are so incredibly good to their employees and while some of it may just be starbucks' "propaganda" they do a lot for local communities. i am training in a store that makes very little profit but is maintatined and was originally opened in order to help revive a somewhat rundown area economincally - i.e. they put it in what is typically considered by many to be a poor, minority dominated, part of town. The Starbucks there has been a really great thing for the local community. bravo. - the coffee may not always be as good as small local independants but that really has more to do with the barista making the drink then the quality of the product. so i am happy with my job and looking forward to moving back to my homestore,(1/2 a block from my house), after training. Today is a day off and i am breaking a cardinal girlfreind rule by cleaning and reorganizing his house/clothes. good god this man has more clothing then any person should...even more then i had before i got rid of several large garbage bags full. and i have a FULL walk in closet plus a second closet which just has dresses and skirts. - so today i think we shall go through and get rid of stuff that isn't worn. no, i won't make him throw out sentimental old t-shirts or things he is attached to that might not be so en fuego to me....but some of his never worn button downs 2 sizes too big with tags still attached from christmas 3 years ago need to go..... i am having fun, i really like organizing things, it gives me a chance to put my obsessive compulsive nature into action. making things go from messy to perfect shouldn't be this fun....wow i am a good little woman, last night i made homemade honeyglazed cornbread and chicken tortilla soup with frozen hot choclate for dessert. *someone* better snatch me up quick (a little somthing something from tiffanys would be a good way to start with the snatching) and with that, i am off to go clean the bathroom.....
