Strange weekend, indeed.
I made out with someone I probably shouldn't have, flirted with another someone who probably wanted to be left alone, and spent an entire day today doing some self-reflection.
I've come to the conclusion that I need to start being more optimistic. Keep in mind that probably won't really start until my next blog entry, as I have some things I need to get off my chest.
The people I have known in the last year have definately taught me much. The hairy italian man rekindled my love for literature. Last summer he composed a reading list for me and I read every book he reccomended with nothing but glee. I've been recently reminded of him on my latest shopping spree on amazon.com where I bought The Buddha of Suburbia both book and on VHS. That being the second book I read that he had let me borrow.
And now for the recent ex... he taught me a lot about music history. It's not really a subject I care deeply about, but it was certianly fun at the time hearing about everything he knew. Unfortunately, that's not all he taught me... well, he didn't teach me this second part, he just reminded me of what I already knew, but to a greater degree. Him being a DJ/Performer I was forced to attend events in which he shmoozed with other smarmy people in the music industry. Throughout all this I was reminded of how phony some people are, and that I have to keep my guard up constantly because you never know when someone's trying to fuck you over. A merry lesson, indeed.
Obviously I've come to terms with and forgiven the hairy italian more than I have with... well, we'll just call him Shithead for now.
In a way the people that have hurt me the most have been a blessing. I always enjoy learning from people, be it a painful lesson or not.
