I forget which stand-up comic did a bit on getting new glasses, but its pretty darn true. He went on about how people seem to put off getting new glasses to the last possible moment, but are shocked when they finally do get them and can see, like it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do. In any case, I do the bit no justice, and I only bring it up because I not only will be getting new glasses tomorrow, but SUNglasses as well. I haven't had a pair of sunglasses in years.
My mom joined Weight Watchers last week and I was joking with her. Not because she joined weight watchers, but because this is like the 40th time in 2 years. She called me on my jokes and said that if it was so easy to do, then why not just do it myself. So I joined Weight Watchers mostly to prove her wrong (which I love doing) but also because I'm sick of looking the way I do, and if she's going to pay for it, I'm not going to pass it up. Well, I lost 5 pounds this week and I must say, the points thing is a pretty good way to keep track of what you eat during the day. Now if I could only get up off the couch, I'd double my results, because I don't think Law and Order burns any calories.
I found another scooter for sale, and as soon as I get some money in, I'm totally getting it. I have to make a couple phone calls tomorrow and wednesday about my last check and W2 from Ocean's 234 and my deposit from my old place. I figured (with my last paychecks) that I made under the ammount needed to get all your taxes back, so I'll be raking in a good 800 bucks from that, then the deposit should be another 200 at least figure in that they had 650, and cleaning and my electric bill shouldn't be that much, I hope. Then again, if I put all my "should be getting's" in one hand, and shit in the other, we all know which will fill up first.
I checked into Gulf Coast University toady and my deadline for application is June 1st, so I'll get on that this week. It turns out that they have a whole school dedicated to teaching and education. I'm going up to check them out some time this week too. I am fleshing out a 5 year plan and an alternate to that plan for if I so see fit. I may stay here for the 4 years to go to school, or I may infact transfer to Harvard after one year, or I may just go to grad school there, but in any case, I'll be moving back to Massachusetts for good at the latest Spring of '09, with many many trips in between.
