I am so happy it's the weekend. Seriously. Though the days seem to go by faster now that I'm used to the workload.
Some good news. The wheels are in motion. All I have to do is give the word and they'll make me a supervisor. I'm thinking I will stay where I am for now until just before peak season ends. That way I can finish off the busiest part of the year in a nice classroom and start off fresh with a couple easy weeks to get settled in my new position (plus, if I do it now, I can't get the 28th off). This is good on so many levels too. First, it's like a 200 a week raise (before overtime) with only a few extra hours (from 25 to 27.5, everything after is overtime). Second, they pay more for school, which means I will be getting a free ticket back to college. Third, I'm out of the fucking union which is really only good if you want to stay there for life or be a lazy slacker (and in some cases, both). Fourth, a serious declination in my daily heavy lifting, which makes my back super happy. Fifth, I'd start off with 3 weeks vacation and would never have to work a weekend ever. And finally, I don't think you heard me correctly, but I did say a two hundred dollar a week raise before overtime. I was talking to my current supervisor and he says that with extentions (overtime), I can make 35,000 a year, easy. School is still my top priority and I don't plan on advancing much further (if at all) in the company, but this will make the next 4 years or so much easier on me, despite taking up every monday through friday night until I finish. But hey, there's still weekends.
iPod update: I'm almost halfway there, and after the dollar raise I just got (it just went through this paycheck), that's an extra 25 bucks a week I can put in the account. Plus, I have some people checking out some things to see what kind of deal I can get. Soon enough I will be rocking out to my 60 gig iPod video. Now, why am I making such a big deal out of this? Because not only will it be the first real thing that I've bought for myself since taking off to Florida (most every paycheck has gone to bills), but also because I see it as a giant leap to getting some of my self worth back. I had to sell most everything I owned just to get back here. And while I don't like to think that a person should be measured by his posessions, when you are living out of a trash bag full of clothes, it's easy to start to feel worthless. So, yeah, the iPod is a big deal to me. The rest of the shit I waste my money on after, though... well... that's just keeping up with the Jones's spoiled 14 year old kid who doesn't really need an X-box 360 and a Nintendo Revoloution (I'm such a fanboy), but wants them anyway.
I finished collecting two of every animal today. Yeah, I'm a little behind schedule but you try building an ark that big by yourself. Shit, I had to cut corners and didn't even have room for the unicorns. Seriously though... What the fuck is up with all this rain? At least I don't have to bring in the chopped wood.
That's it. I'm going to sleep and hope the sound of rain doesn't make me pee the bed.

>(plus, if I do it now, I can't get the 28th off).
Good to see your priorities are in order.
Thank you.
P.S. I didn't actually cut myself. The blade bound up on the pipe I was cutting and beat my thumb to a pulp
