Thanksgiving.
I love Thanksgiving
I know to most people that Thanksgiving is a bullshit Hallamark holiday but given that I was born on Thanksgiving it has always had a bit more meaning to me I guess.
I wait all year for Thanksgiving. I wait all year, every year, to do exactly what I did this morning, setting around in my underwear watching the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. I wait all year for Thanksgiving dinner, a bit later today i'm going to gorge myself on Turkey and dressing, Giblet gravy, Crescent rolls, and all the other Thanksgiving foods I love so much.
But Thanksgiving has taken on a different even more important meaning for me since i've gotten older, specifically since i've become a father of children of my own. Now during Thanksgiving I think about all the things I actually have to be thankful for, none of the Pilgrim and Indian bullshit, what does that mean to us now? Nothing. I'm talking about the things in life that really matter, family, friends, good times. All of the things that make life worth having a holiday we call Thanksgiving.
Today I give thanks for many things in my life, one of those things is SG, but more to the point, all of you here who I call friend and consider me the same.
So, no matter how you may personally feel about this holiday I would like to wish anyone who reads this a very sincere and heartfelt...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

I hope you and your family had a great time together. Ours did. My grandma said a beautiful prayer about remembering our soldiers overseas that got us all a little choked up, and then we stuffed ourselves. My husband made roasted garlic jalapeno mashed potatoes with HALF AND HALF that made my eyes roll back in my head. My whole family kept saying how great "that big-ass turkey" was.....mmmm, juicy. How can people be as satisfied w/ tofurky? I guess to each their own.
Happy early birthday, sweetie!
