Okay so tour was awesome. I froze my ass off in Buffalo though. I hate that place. NYC was a blast as always. I was pretty rediculous thanks to different business associates buying me drinks at the show all night. The after party was interesting. A few of the "burning angel" girls came and played a game called "strip for pain". All the girls from the website are awesome to hang with but boy did they beat the shit out of their two volunteers. Kicks to the nuts, flames, nipple clamps, etc... The major problem was because it was a concert venue, not a strip club, the girls couldn't legally get naked. Much like the SG Burlesque tour they were stripped down to thongs and tape on their nipples. The crowd was pretty riled up after seeing these poor kids take all the pain that they did. The "winner" if you can call him that, got a 30 second lapdance from the owner of BA as his prize. I would have been so bummed if I was him. He definitely went home as less of a man after that.
After that I spent two days with my Socratic boys in New Jersey. Kevin's parents rock. His mom did my laundry and they made me feel right at home the whole time. I got to do my work, smoke without caring, drink without caring and they are both awesome chefs! My god that was fun. I also took Kevin and Duane up to Long Island to go hang out at the Downtown. I hadn't been to the club, and Adam, the talent buyer, is one of my good friends so he invited us up to come see Straylight Run / Hot Rod Circuit / Say Anything / Northstar. Adam totally hooked it up. VIP all night free chicken fingers / french fries / french onion soup for all of us, bought us beers, gave us wristbands, hung out at the after party etc... What a great time that was. I've always liked strong island for some reason. The show was good times man. Straylight and Northstar are both pretty incredible and Say Anything is great as well. I highly recommend you A: buy their Cds and B: Go to this tour! It was a blast.
After this the Drive Thru Records Sounds of Change Tour (which I booked) was to start in Poughkeepsie, NY. Poughkeepsie is kind of a thug town but I have always had a fondness for it since I dated a girl from Ptown. The show was a good time as well. This is such a good tour. I genuinely love the Steel Train guys. Well, Jack and Daniel are both amazing anyways. Hellogoodbye are a fun as hell live band as well. Socratic does it for me though. Those are my boys. I have known them forever and consider them some of my favorite people in the world and that is what makes it awesome to be their booking agent. I want to make their dreams come true. I put in a lot of hours that's sure.
It's not exactly normal for someone in my position to be so candid about their job and feelings but hey I'm breaking the mold. What can I say? I love Jerry Maguire.
So anyways, Hartford was the next day the show was okay but we got pretty drunk backstage. We had a tub of beer and girly drinks (smirnoff triple black, raspberry, etc...) for hospitality along with the best pizza on earth. By the end of the night we were all in rockstar mode breaking bottles and being destructive for the sake of a good time. It was awesome to have the chance to spend some time with the band. I got to know Vinny (the piano player of Socratic) a ton when he was the only one in the band I never knew.
We went to Buffalo the next day and I really don't want to talk about that. haha. I flew back to Long Beach from Buffalo. I love Jet Blue I just sleep and eat their snacks and watch DirectTV. It's cheap as hell too.
So long after I left the tour Socratic got stuck in Iowa for a week and hellogoodbye totalled their van and trailer. Everyone has spent the last week getting their shit together and are all meeting back up tonight in Reno at Club Infinity for halloweeeeeeen reno style. Should be great times. Thank god hellogoodbye are alright and Socratic made it out of Iowa finally. The bands will be here in OC from Tuesday - Thursday I can't wait for everyone to hang out with them and see them play. It's been a long time coming. I am fairly stoked for this week. I got really sick on Thursday night / Friday with flu-like symptoms but managed to get rid of them within 48 hours. GO IMMUNE SYSTEM!!!
Also just to give everyone advance warning, you HAVE to come to Vegas for New Years. We are having a huge blowout festival party at Jillians on Fremont Street downtown. It's going to be the whole venue (upstairs and downstairs, 2500 people) and two stages. Tix will be relatively cheap (for vegas on new years) and the lineup is the shit. REEL BIG FISH, ZEBRAHEAD, VOODOO GLOW SKULLS, THE MATCHES, SUBURBAN LEGENDS, ETC... will all be playing. REEL BIG FISH will be doing the champagne toast at midnight as well. Holy shit are we going to tear vegas apart. Feel free to contact me for info on the event.
THE RED SOX FUCKING WON THE SERIES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 86 YEARS. I DRANK TWO PITCHERS OF SAM ADAMS TO CELEBRATE. SHIT I MISS BOSTON.
Did I forget to mention that I met the prettiest girl ever at a bitchin' Halloween party last night? She had black hair, gorgeous eyes, and was dressed as little red riding hood (in red leather). Oh my god was she a sight for sore eyes. She was cool as hell too I talked to her all night and had a blast doing so. This girl is awesome. I'm gonna call her hopefully this week. That is all.
Adios kiddos.
