Slow moving today...after a shitty weekend. But I'm forcing myself to look at the good...I'm tired of being sick, tired of being tired and sooo fucking sick of hearing myself bitch about it.
So, this morning, desperately seeking comic relief...my search was over when our office manager Chris came in. The static electricity at the station has been almost unbearable. Everytime you touch another person, you're shocked, touch a piece of equipment, shocked...I'm not completely convinced that this isn't management's way to deter intra-office dating...but anyway.
Leaning over the studio mic to hand me a piece of paper, the mic hit and shocked a very central location on Chris's breast. I heard the static through my headphones and the look of surprise on her face initially worried me. Her eyes widened, and she grabbed her chest. I asked if she was okay, and she laughed and said it just "shocked" her...Well, just as I open the mic to read off our weather...she walks by the studio window, pulling her shirt taught and pointing out her tiny bump of excitement to me...then announces..."and here I thought they didn't work anymore...."
I couldn't talk, I was laughing so hard...She was my savior today.
I also found out that I get to be a hostess on a trip we're sponsoring to Graceland and Nashville coming up in September. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it...plus, knowing I'm going, my friend's will sign up, and we haven't been on vacation together in some time. So, YAY. Not my first choice of a destination, but still, fun with friends...can't beat that.
So, that's what's late and great on my end...I have been a bad bad SG friend lately, and I'll be making the rounds today to say howdy...well, maybe not "howdy" I'm...after all...not from Arkansas...
