My counter-part on the morning show, Ted is HILARIOUS! This morning at work, I sneezed and he looked over at me, his eyes bulging and yelled "NO!!!!" Getting sick, isn't an option, apparently. I could barely go back on the air, I was laughing so hard. It feels good to laugh...
Last night was a stressful night. With an email from a friend of mine who is now having second thoughts after ripping me out of her life last week, a drunk-n-dial from another friend in Seattle who didn't understand what "time difference" meant at 1:30 am, and a hysterical phone call from my niece whose life seems to revolve around a destructive relationship. I woke up this morning after a solid 90 minutes of sleep and I think I greeted the day with a "no fucking way..." however, it's all a blur.
I found out yesterday that one of the girls on the basketball team I had been working with has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma which is a form of cancer. 15 years old...It just breaks my heart. So, tonight at the game, I'm meeting with the girls and we're discussing fundraising efforts as her dad just lost his job and health insurance before Christmas. Any thoughts or ideas on this would be appreciated. The girls are just broken by the news, and it's a time to focus their energy not on the "what-ifs" but the "how can we help?" Give them a chance to feel pro-active. Cancer has affected everyone, whether directly or indirectly, but when it happens to a child, it's a whole new perspective on the situation. So, this has my utmost attention.
So, that's my update...Gram is doing fabulous, she rocks the most...Stace is coming to visit next weekend (weather permitting), and basketball tonight, tomorrow night and Fri-Sat nights...OH, and speaking of basketball..7 in a row...
QUESTION: Will you post a happy making picture for me today?
