The last few days have been a whirlwind! And as time slows back to it's normal pace, I find myself scurrying to fill empty hours. Too much free time is wasted on me.
Stace heads back to Seattle this morning...goodbyes this morning were not easy, even with the assurance that I'll see her in less than two weeks. She has been my strength through this "right of passage" in my life, and I have grown to depend on her presence.
We're finally all done welcoming GingerGayle into the land-of-legal-drinking-age with a BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION at Cousin Sams. I love seeing her so happy, drunk-happy, but happy is happy, right? A small bump in the evening ended up with Stace and I chauffeuring one of the party guests to the ER for some stitches. It's been a long time since we have had to bandage someone up, so I guess we were long overdue. He was more upset about his beer being knocked over than the trails of blood flowing down his face, so you can imagine he was just fine.
We migrated back north Sunday, and with no NASCAR, no Colts or Bears...and the Pacers didn't play until Sunday night, we ended up watching Chicago. It's UNNATURAL to have a weekend without NASCAR...and complete bullshit, but that's beside the point. Chicago was okay, I didn't see what all the hype was about though. It may just not be my kind of movie.
Yesterday afternoon, Stace and Gayle took their traditional pilgrimage to go underwear shopping, and then we had to go to a basketball game. Was blindsided by a face from my past that I wasn't expecting to see, which is sometimes good and sometimes not so much.
Young girl, don't cry
I'll be right here when your world starts to fall
Young girl, it's all right
Your tears will dry, you'll soon be free to fly
QUESTION: Best Holiday Movie--EVER!?
