exhausted...exhilarated
Balancing the line between the two opposites today. After a weekend of sporadic sleep at best, I find myself now on Wednesday and can't remember the last time I put more than 3 hours of sleep together. It's my own fault, it's the schedule I keep for myself. I am my own master of demise.
Last night I went to "scout" a varsity girls basketball game, and found myself in sensory overload. The feel of the polished hard wood under my feet, the sound of squeaking shoes, the echo of the ball hitting the floor, the groups of kids whose social interaction only slightly marred by the competition out on the court. Even the smell, that mix of stale popcorn and that sweetness that doesn't seem to originate from anywhere. I love the gym. The head coach is a friend of mine, and he had unknowingly involved himself within my competitive nature in the past. So, when he asked if I would be willing to help his young ball club with some shooting, I jumped at the chance. ONLY if I get a whistle!
I never played basketball, unless you count 5th grade, which I don't. However, I love the game and thanks to two older and very aggressive brothers, I learned quickly how to hold my own in a pick up game. Had I been about a foot taller, who knows what I could have done. I guess this is just one of those rare instances where size does matter.
I watched the game, took notes, and met the girls. And so it was retired, another two hour time block on Saturday morning after work, has been spoken for. What's next? Stay tuned...
QUESTION: Favorite sport...played or watched...and favorite team? For me, it's Basketball (Bulls/Pacers)...Football (Colts/Bears)....Baseball (Cubs *newly appointed*)...and OF COURSE...NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

Fav team - MN Timberwolves
I am a VERY good free throw shooter.
My favorite sport played or watched would both be a tie between Baseball and Hockey.....I love them both equally.
Now you go get a good night's sleep k?
